SPECIAL EDUCATION ADMINISTRATOR LICENSURE PROGRAM

The Special Education Administrator Licensure Program, developed by Academic Discoveries, Inc., is designed to equip aspiring special education administrators with the essential knowledge and skills for effective district-wide leadership. The curriculum covers the core principles of special education leadership, legal and policy compliance, data-driven decision-making, and financial management within the special education framework. Through a combination of seminars and practicum experiences, candidates gain practical, hands-on insights into the complexities of special education administration, preparing them to successfully lead and manage special education programs and services in their respective districts.

This 27-credit program, structured for completion over three semesters, is approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and leads to  Initial Licensure Certification as a Special Administrator (all levels). It welcomes applicants holding a master's degree in special education or a related field such as psychology, school psychology, communication disorders, school counseling, or educational administration. A current teaching or administrative license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is advantageous. Individuals from diverse racial, linguistic, and cultural backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
